Housekeeper/Groom required
Part-time, live out
Help needed to maintain a family home for 3 busy adults and their animals. A neglected house needs care and attention, and a frustrated rider needs time to enjoy her horses. Looking for someone who is competent and experienced in household tasks and with general stable management. The candidate must be capable of carrying out routine tasks and other actions as required to keep the house and stables in good order. They must be comfortable around dogs and horses and able to safely manage them as required. The location is somewhat isolated, but not far from the town, so an independent driver is required. Willingness to help with garden maintenance also an advantage.
Hours of work by arrangement – approx. 20 hours per week – preferably weekday mornings, but to be arranged, with some flexibility.
Housekeeper
Clearing away, tidying and cleaning the kitchen and dining room, cleaning, tidying and organising bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, storage, changing beds, vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting, cleaning windows (internally), collecting, washing and ironing laundry, preparing and assisting preparation of meals, assisting with preparation and management of any entertaining, dealing with tradesmen/contractors, may include occasional driving family, and for general errands, may include managing work and family diaries/schedules, ordering and shopping, organising meetings and appointments, booking and arranging business and family trips, restaurant or social activities.
Groom
Assistance with stable management tasks – bringing in and turning out, grooming, tacking up and untacking, cleaning and general maintenance and management of tack, rugs and other equipment, tack room, feed room, feeding, watering, occasional mucking out and poopicking when usual help with this is away. Riding not required, but may be available depending on candidate.
Must be comfortable with rural environment and lifestyle and capable of taking sole charge when required.
Willingness to assist with garden maintenance work also of interest.
Driver with own car required.
Salary: Current rate dependent on skills and experience.
