A Nanny/Housekeeper is required for 2 children aged B6 & G4 years old
Days/Hours
Monday to Friday
9am-6pm – school holidays – 45 hours a week – 21 weeks per year
Term – 1pm-6.30pm – 27.5 hours for 31 week
Average 35 hours a week (annualized salary)
Role Term time: Childcare
Approx. 3.30pm – pick children up
Bring home
Cook tea
Do homework
Get children ready for bath/ bath. Clothes out for school the next day
Tidy up – make sure all children’s mess is away, as well as kitchen clean from tea. All laundry away
Leave 6.30pm
Duties
Helping the children with homework.
Helping the children grew emotionally.
Taking children to playdates, having some here.
Taking children to parties in (more likely in holiday time)
Helping pack children’s bags for weekends away
Sometimes staying the night (proxy parenting) if we need to be away for work
Occasional babysitting
Housekeeping
Keep children’s room clean and tidy
Change and wash families bedding
Change and wash all towels once a week.
Keep nursery and “boot room” tidy. Children should play a part in tidying up too
Keep kitchen tidy
Shop for food for children (can create a list which can be added to shopping order for delivery) and do some food shopping for the household, (for example visit the butcher, fishmonger etc)
Food plan for the children and prepare healthy, interesting meals for them.
Keep on top of laundry. Ask if a wash needs to be put on. Check washing machine and tumble dryer to see if they are full and need emptying. Hang things to dry. Dried items to be ironed or put away in drawers.
Ironing – children’s clothes (dresses, tops, shorts,etc) as well as various items of our cloths (tops, trousers etc). some kitchen towels, napkins.
Some house errands – post office, dry cleaner, picking things up, charity shop visit etc
Keep on top of the children’s clothes. Make sure they fit them. Let me know if they have grown out of things
Keep on top of children’s arts and crafts. Order new things. Tidy away.
Keep on top of children’s toys. If growing out of them to discuss with us, and can be given to charity, boxed for friends etc.
Sometimes helping us with organisation in the house/office
School Holidays
More focus on the children but still keeping on top of the housework such as children’s bedrooms, nursery, and keeping the kitchen clear.
Still help with laundry (time allowing)
Driving children to activities/ camps/ playdates/ days out.
Coming up with fun things to do with the children. Making plans with other nanny’s for the children to see friends. Organising playdates out and at our house
Helping with homework, or if no homework, continuing to read and further them in their education. Fun educational games (spelling/ maths etc). taking them to the library.
Playing with the children, and also allowing them to come up with their own games, and sometimes be bored!
Some travel with the family expected
Sometimes might need more hours if away for work. Would always be discussed in advance.
