We are seeking a warm, reliable, and engaging Housekeeper/Nanny to join a welcoming family in Great Horwood, caring for a lively and affectionate three-year-old boy at his father’s home. This sole charge role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with young children while also taking pride in a well-run home. As the child spends 50% of his time with his mother, the role will be more housekeeping-focused at times. The family are looking for someone who embraces both aspects, becoming a trusted, positive presence and supporting a happy, organised home.
HOURS
Mon-Fri
Two-week rotating schedule 42-44 hours per week
Nursery days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Drop-off and collection (nursery in Tingewick)
Housekeeping duties during nursery hours
Days without the child:
Full housekeeping responsibilities
DUTIES
Housekeeping:
Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation
Hoovering, dusting, and mopping
Cleaning bathrooms and kitchen to a high standard
Changing bedding
Periodic deep cleaning tasks (such as internal windows and walls)
Preparing simple, nutritious meals for father and child
Monitoring household supplies and compiling shopping lists
Feeding and letting out two cavapoo dogs
Childcare:
A cheerful and energetic three-year-old who thrives on outdoor play, imaginative games, and building with magnatiles. He benefits from a nanny who is engaging, patient, and able to match his enthusiasm and curiosity.
Providing attentive sole charge care
Nursery drop-off and collection
Planning and engaging in age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors
Supporting a positive and consistent daily routine
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Driver essential with own car due to rural location
Confident working in a sole charge capacity
Warm, proactive, and highly organised
Happy to undertake a housekeeping-led role when the child is not present
Comfortable working in a home with animals, including sheep on the grounds
