A lovely family in Waddesdon, Aylesbury are looking for a caring, reliable, and friendly Nanny to join their household in January 2026. The role will be sole charge of two wonderful daughters, (aged 9 and 11) This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting school-aged children, creating a happy and nurturing environment, and helping with their daily routines and after-school activities.
DAYS & HOURS
Monday – Friday: 1:30/2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Approx. 25 to 27.5 hours per week
+ Occasional babysitting (2–3 evenings a year)
+ Extended hours until 9:30 PM approx. 6 times per year when Mum travels
DUTIES
-Collecting the girls from school and supervising change into home clothes
-Supporting homework and helping ensure it is completed
-Preparing school bags for the next day
-Transporting the girls to after-school activities such as swimming, dance, and gymnastics
-Preparing swim bags and helping with drying hair
-Supervising medication (One of the children has an inhaler for asthma)
-Preparing snacks and evening meals, including family favourites like pasta bolognese and cottage pie
-Putting away weekly/fortnightly grocery deliveries
-Occasional babysitting and extended hours during Mum’s work trips
IDEAL CANDIDATE
-Experienced in sole charge childcare
-Calm, nurturing, and organised
-Able to manage routines with care and patience, especially for children with asthma or anxiety
-Full UK driving licence required; family car available for use 3 days per week (sole use when Mum is away)
-Dog-friendly
HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT
-45 days of paid leave per year
-Holidays are aligned with school term dates, so the nanny cannot choose their own days off but do note that the holiday period will be coinciding with the independent school calendar, which will give you access to travel outside of peak times.
-All holidays are fully paid, well above the average holiday allowance
–Days off for special events can be accommodated with prior arrangement
-The nanny is not expected to work over Christmas and New Year, providing a guaranteed festive break
-This arrangement ensures a predictable schedule while offering a generous and secure work-life balance (no working in between Christmas and New Year,
1 week in Feb, 1 week in late March, 3 weeks from mid-July to August).
