Live-in Junior Nanny – Cold Ash, Berkshire

Start Date: September 2026

A warm and friendly family based in Cold Ash, Berkshire is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Live-in Junior Nanny to support Mum and her two daughters, aged 4 and 7. The role primarily provides support while Dad is working away and offers a unique combination of daytime care and overnight responsibility.

Working Hours

• Monday: 10:00pm – Tuesday 8:30am (including the morning routine and school drop-off)
• Wednesday: 4:30pm start, including overnight care
• One flexible day/evening at the weekend (grandparents provide support on the other weekend day/overnight)

This is a term time only role and is 25 hours a week plus 3 overnights.

About the Children

The girls are happy, confident, and have an excellent bedtime routine, usually settling down around 7:30pm. They love spending time outdoors and enjoy a wide variety of activities, including:

• Exploring nature
• Cooking and baking
• Arts and crafts
• Animals
• Sports and active play
• Imaginative and role play

This role would suit a proactive nanny who enjoys planning engaging activities and creating a fun, nurturing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Acting as the responsible adult in the home during overnight shifts.
  • Mum is usually home from work by around 10:00pm, however on the specified nights she cannot take responsibility for the children due to the possibility of being called out for work emergencies.
• Supporting the morning routine, including:
  • Waking the children
  • Helping them get dressed
  • Preparing breakfast
  • School drop-off
• Collecting the children from school on Wednesdays
• Preparing dinner
• Managing the evening and bedtime routine
• Supporting the children’s daily routines
• Planning and preparing healthy meals
• Keeping the children happy, stimulated, entertained, and well cared for

Additional Information

• The family has one dog and one kitten.
• A private bedroom is provided within the family home.
• Mum is very hands-on and enjoys spending time with the children, particularly at weekends.

Salary

£16–£17 per hour (gross)

Salary is dependent on experience.
